More about my path into journalism
My journey into this field was unexpected. When I was younger, I used my free time to cut and mix music for my dance team. I taught myself Final Cut Pro and iMovie because learning those tools interested and engaged me, boosting my confidence and giving me a real passion for editing. Suddenly, I had a purpose, and I strived to develop this talent.
And today, I am engaged in journalism. It is not easy, and, as a result, I love it. Finding stories; making tales come to life; broadcasting sporting events are all activities that I enjoy doing — and that is journalism. My time at the University of Illinois exposed me to a deeper passion for the craft, and now, during my time with ESPN, I learn something new every day.
